As longterm frontman and central songwriter for Toronto gypsy folk outfit 'The Strip', Davis released two critically acclaimed albums during his tenure in Toronto. Several tours ensued,, including a month long national romp, which saw their music reach the #1 spot on Canada's largest campus/community radio station, 89.5 CIUT. The album 'Stick To Your Guns' also broke through the national Top 10 Earshot charts in the ever popular “Roots” genre.
Darrin has performed many times on the stages of Hugh’s Room, The Horseshoe, The National Gallery in Ottawa, Kaffe 1870, The Dakota Tavern, The El Mocambo, The Rivoli, The C'est What, The Mariposa Folk Festival and countless others across Canada.
"For me, art has always been fundamentally about connection", Davis says. "Connection to the past, that silver thread to your roots. Connection to your own personal story. And connection to the person on the other end, the one listening. For a song to succeed, it needs to touch someone deeply. Otherwise, what's the point?"
